This course aims to bring together renowned academicians, intellectuals who excel in their field and the enthusiastic youths into a critical debate for more comprehensive analysis and explorations of Dalit issues. The particular issues addressed in the course will include: History, Reality in Grassroots and Challenges of Dalit Movement; Comparative Perspectives on Social Movements in Nepal; Dalits’ Social Inclusion in Nepal; Human Rights Based Approached to Development; Land, Food Security and Dalit Right; The Role of Media and Education for Dalits’ empowerment; Gender Inequality and Dalit Women etc
Applicants are invited for PDRC’s 2nd batch of two-months comprehensive course Academic and Intellectual Discourse on Dalit. designed to equip and stimulate participants through a multi-perspective approaches to critically analyze Dalit movement in Nepal. It is an opportunity for them to develop deeper understanding about the pertinent issues that Dalits’ are currently facing. Advanced graduate students, aspiring development professionals, government officials and the students willing to pursue their career in policy making are encouraged to apply for this course.
Eligibility-
Applicants are required to have at least a bachelor’s degree and an abiding passion in the issues of minority in general and particularly Dalit. Students in the process of writing their thesis are strongly encouraged to apply. Criteria for admission to the course are based on curriculum vitae and applicants time commitment for the entire course.
