Danish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education has issued a third call seeking applications under the International Network Program aimed at boosting collaboration on science and innovation between researchers from Denmark and researchers from the following countries: China (incl. Hong Kong), India, Israel, Japan, USA, Brazil and the Republic of Korea. The program is open to all scientific areas.
Types of grants
Support will be provided to networking and matchmaking initiatives seeking to identify potential for bilateral research collaboration.
Exploratory bilateral scientific workshops and conferences with participation of researchers, scientists and PhD. students from Denmark and from one or more of the following countries: China (incl. Hong Kong), India, Israel, Japan, USA, Brazil and the Republic of Korea.
Exploratory travel between Denmark and China (incl. Hong Kong), India, Israel, Japan, USA, Brazil and the Republic of Korea and vice versa,in order to identify potential for new collaborative projects and partnerships.
An amount of DKK 13 million has been reserved for the call for applications (inclusive of overhead/administration expenses). Depending on the quality of the applications received, the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation reserves the right to allocate only part of the funding.
Each application can be supported up to a maximum amount of DKK 250.000 excl. overhead/administration expenses.
Who can apply
Recognized scientists employed at Danish universities and research institutions and also recognized scientists employed at R&D intensive companies in Denmark are invited to submit applications for financial support for initiatives linking scientists and companies in Denmark and China (incl. Hong Kong), India, Israel, Japan, USA, Brazil and the Republic of Korea respectively, in order to prepare joint research activities and boost the exchange of knowledge and talent between Denmark and the countries in question.
The concept recognized scientists is defined as follows: Persons who have engaged in active scientific research for a number of years, and who possess academic and research qualifications at a level corresponding to those of at least an associate professor or a senior scientist.
The scientist from Denmark must have identified one or more foreign partners from a scientifically/ technically recognized institution/company from China (incl. Hong Kong), India, Israel, Japan, USA, Brazil or the Republic of Korea. The main applicant and the foreign partner(s) must be recognized scientists in the relevant field of research with endorsement of the project by their respective institutions.
