Hope and Peace for Humanity (HPH) is a registered charity Community Based Organisation in Gulu district, Northern. It was founded by highly committed and motivated volunteers to contribute towards a process of restoring hope, improving the quality of life of persons and communities infected and affected by HIV/AIDS (PHAs), Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), and Extremely Vulnerable Individuals (EVIs).
This is through Health promotion, OVC Education support, Economic empowerment, Food Security and Peace building for a sustainable development for self-reliance. We believe this will make a contribution towards rebuilding Northern Uganda after the over 20 years of armed conflict.
VISION
A socio-economically empowered, peaceful, healthy, and hopeful community with PHAs whose rights are recognised and upheld.
MISSION
We work towards empowering people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in Northern Uganda to take better control of thier social and economic lives by ensuring thier participation in development activities.
GOAL
To reduce the impact and spread of HIV/AIDS by promoting awareness and overall wellbeing of people through increasing access to healthcare, education, economic empowerment and peace building for self-reliance.
OBJECTIVES
– To build HPH into a one-stop centre for HIV/AIDS services
– To promote healthcare campaigns on reproductive health and gender amonsgt the community in Northern Uganda
– To mitigate the socio-economic effects of HIV/AIDS on PHAs and thier dependants by equiping them with vocational skills, life skills, and other practical skills for income generation.
– To promote food security and livelihood for economic independence and self-reliance.
– To encourage positive behaviour change amonsgt the community by creating awareness as a means of preventionting HIV infection.
– To promote peace building within an individual, family, and community level foe a peaceful human coexistence.
Our activities are categorised under four major departments; Health, Education, Livelihood, and Justice and Peace departments.
