GRAMYANCHAL AUDYOGIK SEVA SANSTHAN (GASS) is a registered, volunta-ry, non-profit organisation registered under Societies Registration Act 1860. It was regis-tered on 29-01-1991 bearing Registration No. 1779/90-91. Although the organization is based at its registered office in Vill & Post- Mau Aima Allahabad but it has extended its activities in the districts of Bahraich, Mau, Banda, Mahoba, Fathepur, Mirzapur, Hamirpur, Jaunpur & Unnao. The focus area of the organization is Pratapgarh district .The district office in Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Mirzapur & Vanarasi is functioning since last one decade. The society mainly works for Empowerment of women, income generation, Health, Education of deprived children and adolescents and other rural de-velopment activities.
At initial stage, Society started working with DWCRA, TRYSEM and Non-Formal Education centers in the year 1991. The Society under DWCRA & TRYSEM schemes provided vocational training and literacy to nearly 20 thousand men & women of rural area of different districts in Uttar Pradesh. In Allahabad district,
- GASS successfully completed Computer Training Centre for 60 Trainees “Norad” Scheme in Block Mau Aima of District Allahabad sponsored by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Child & Women Development Govt. of In-dia. Under the scheme nearly 200 participants were benefited.
- From 1996 onwards GASS is running a Family Planning Program at District Alla-habad. Under the Scheme, four thousand and twenty five people were benefited.
- GASS is running Girls Hostel for Secondary Level Girls since 2002 to Continue Programme sponsored by Ministry of Human Resources Development Govt. of In-dia. Department of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Nearly 400 Girls were benefited under the scheme.
- Uttar Pradesh Mahila Kalyan Nigam selected KGVS to carry out its Income gene-rating training programmes for district Allahabd, from 2001 to till date. Through this scheme, 400 women benefited.
- Apart from above major programmes, GASS worked as field NGO for different programmes sponsored by different Central & State departments like RCH from Health Department, Pradhanmantry Rojgar Yojana from Directorate of Industries Uttar Pradesh, Environment Awareness Programme from Ministry of Environment and programmes sponsored by District Urban Development Agency of different districts of Uttar Pradesh.
- GASS is running “Abhinav Swasthya Kendra” Health Post funded by UPHSDP in rural areas of Block Mau Aiam of District Allahabad.
- GASS is running ” Kishori Shashktikaran Yojna ” in District Allahabad since 2008 ” funded by District Programme Officer, Allahabad.
- GASS is also running a self funded Hospital Named as “Care Hospital “in Mau Ai-ma Block, District Allahabad since 2000.
GRAMYANCHAL AUDYOGIK SEVA SANSTHAN, since its inception, is involved for the cause of poor, needy and deprived people. The major programme implemented by the organization includes targeted intervention on HIV AIDS, community health and health awareness programme, enhancement of literacy level in the rural areas, capacity build-ing of women and adolescents; employment oriented vocational training of the people below poverty line, etc.
