Action Aid has invited applications from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/vacancy of Major Partnerships Manager – Asia. Location of this job will be based in Bangkok or any other Country Programme/Member in Asia.
Education and Certification
- Relevant degree or similar qualification
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- A proven ability to secure major gifts/grants (including at a six and seven figure level) from high net-worth individuals, companies and trusts/foundations
- Entrepreneurial and target driven with evidence of commercial acumen
- Enthusiastic self-starter who is independent, self-motivated and can work off their own initiative
- Knowledge and understanding of the philanthropy sector and best practice, particularly corporate CSR issues and practice
- Excellent verbal communication skills both face-to-face and on the phone, including presentation skills
- Excellent written communication skills to include effective proposal writing and correspondence to internal and external audiences
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, including the ability to persuade, motivate, network and negotiate effectively
- A versatile communicator (written and verbal) who can develop rapport with donors and articulate persuasively the key elements of a case for support
- Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills with experience of and an aptitude for strategic planning
- Proven ability to negotiate with and influence a range of stakeholders • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload in a pressured environment
- A strong commitment to develop, promote and practice AAI’s vision, mission, values and strategy
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently across the region
- Fluency in English
Desired Knowledge and Experience
- Proven experience of setting up a successful major donor programme
- Some existing networks within the philanthropy and/or CSR field in the Asia region
- Line management experience
- Understanding of overseas development
- Fluency in a second language (Singaporean Mandarin or Cantonese)
