Applications are invited by The African Union (AU) from qualified and deserving candidates from the citizens of Member States for the job/vacancy of Senior Radio Transmission & Broadcasting Policy Officer. Location of this job will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Educational Qualifications
- Candidates must have, a Master Degree in Electrical/electronic Engineering, or equivalent qualification in fields related to Radio communication, spectrum management and/or broadcasting technologies,
- Higher qualification will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
- Candidates must have at least 8 years of progressively relevant experience in Radio-Communications, Telecommunications , Information and Communication Technologies development as well as programme/project management of which a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in Telecommunications and broadcasting;
- Experience at regional and international levels in radio communications. Spectrum management and broadcasting issues is desirable.
Language Requirement
- Proficiency in at least one of the African Union working languages (English, French, Arabic and Portuguese) is a must have. Knowledge of the other working languages would be an added advantage.
Age Requirement
- Candidates must preferably be between 35 and 50 years old.
Tenure of Appointment
- The appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of three (3) years, of which the first twelve months be consider as a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract will be for a period of two years renewable,subject to satisfactory performance.
Remuneration
- Indicative basic salary of US$33,619.00 per annum plus other related entitlements e.g. post adjustment (46%of basic salary or US$15,464.74 per annum), housing allowance (US$14,414.60 per annum), education allowance (75% of tuition and other related expenses for every eligible dependent up to a maximum of US$7,800.00 per child per annum),etc. for internationally recruited staff of the Commission.
