World Vision International has invited applications from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/vacancy of Agricultural Economics Technical Manager. Location of this job will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe. Type of post is Accompanied-Family.
Required:
- Requires a Masters Degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness, agronomy, agricultural development, or related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in agribusiness, market-led agricultural development or economic development is required.
- Proven experience with integration of gender and environment into agriculture-led economic programming required.
- Progressive management experience required, preferably in USG grant-funded projects or programs. Ideal candidates would have experience with Title II or USDA programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-sectorally. Ability to work as team member in an interdisciplinary environment and contribute to this in capacity building at regional and national office levels of interaction.
- Abilities in the area of capacity building and training of trainers
- Ability to supervise field staff and work collaboratively with national and local government officials is necessary.
- Ability to represent organization and project on technical matters to host-country professionals, ministries, and donor colleagues.
- Diplomacy and strong presentation skills, speaking and writing are required.
- Willing and able to travel extensively
- Fluent in English
Preferred:
- Prefer candidate with strong experience in value chain analysis and development including value chain finance
