Malaria Consortiumhas invited applications from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/vacancy of Senior Public Health Specialist: Neglected Tropical Diseases. Locations of this job will be based in London, UK, but Kampala, Uganda, Malaria Consortium Africa Regional Office, will also be considered.
- Post-graduate qualification in public health or relevant biological sciences.
- Several years international public health experience in different low-income country settings (preferably in Africa and Southeast Asia/Pacific regions).
- Extensive experience in NTD control and operational research.
- Experience in NTD mapping methods
- Experience in managing projects and staff teams, including training and mentoring
- Previous engagement in successful proposal development
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with international and local government and non-governmental organisation officials
- Ability to innovate and design effective health programmes
- Strong analytical skills in monitoring, evaluation
- Familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Excellent planning and organising skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (including both written and spoken English)
- Excellent report and manuscript writing skills
- Knowledge in the use of data management and analysis software such as Excel, Access, EpiData, STATA
- Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region
- Ability to follow deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail
