Nagaland Centre for Human Development and Information Technology (NCHD&IT) is a registered organization under the societies Act, Govt of Nagaland in early 2000 and is based in Medziphema Town, Dimapur District, Nagaland State.
Our mission is to engineer participatory community development and build leadership capabilities for socio-economic empowerment amongst women and youth. NCHD-IT uses the tools of training, information and awareness creation. The centre promotes networking and linkages both between individuals and institutions.
Education is one of the cornerstones of alleviating poverty, which is one of NCHD & IT’s overall development objectives. Our Centre promotes education through various approaches. We have encouraged youth, who are dropped out of schools and colleges to enroll in different Institution/Universities offering Diploma courses and undergraduate studies. We linked with educational institutions in other parts of the country to offer seats for postgraduate Courses (e.g. Postgraduate Programme in Development Management PPDM) for our youths, besides, encouraging those who are already working, to upgrade their skills, knowledge and understanding by enrolling them to relevant educational programme.
NCHD-IT secured 5 seats for North East students (economically weak)to undertake Post graduate Programe in Development Management (PPDM)tied an MOU with Behavioural Sciences Centre, St.Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad
Our Centre started as a “Youth and Scholars Discussion Forum” (YSDF) to encourage dialogue among Youth who meet once a week debate on various issues of the day including the dreadful diseases like HIV/AIDS., Alcoholism and drug abuse Environment youth and culture, public health exploitation of youth etc. This has the objective of directing youth to address problems facing their regions, country youth & women development and larger global issues, thereby developing leadership potential in them and nurturing them to be responsible citizens.

Since the inception of the organization it has been in the vanguard of small and micro enterprise development among youth and women. The Centre has been working extensively in this field in order to concretize the efforts by keeping gender issues in sharp focus and striving to increase access/control of the poor on productive resources and facilities.
The Center in the year 2002 has trained the women in Poultry Management and these women who received training has started group poultry farm where they are getting very good turnover.
Environmental Awareness Programme in Medziphema Town, under Dimapur District. There are 9 schools, 3 banks, 13 communities (tribes) churches, 16 tribes Union, all business community in Medziphema.. We mobilized all these institutions to take part on this day. This awareness program was sponsored by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural development (NABARD).
4 weeks Training on Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WEDP), for 25 women from Dimapur District
Have completed making a documentary film on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with the Nagas, 1944 IInd World War and released .Title: Netaji with the Nagas – The last camp in India.
1 week Training on Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WEDP), for 25 women from Dimapur District. The program was sponsored by State Industrial Development Bank India.
