Nominations are open for The Charles Bronfman Prize that recognizes Jewish humanitarians whose work, while inspired by personal Jewish values, is of universal benefit to all people.
The Charles Bronfman Prize accepts nominations in all areas of humanitarian endeavor across a broad spectrum of disciplines. Past recipients have distinguished themselves through their work in genetics, the environment, medical education, humanitarian relief, the transformation of public education and human rights.
The prize seeks next-generation leaders who have a vision for change that will better the world in a meaningful way, and who have created a mechanism for acting on that vision in ways that deliver measurable results.
Prize Information
An internationally recognized panel of judges selects the Prize recipient(s) and bestows an award of $100,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominators from distinguished international institutions including community leaders, philanthropists, universities, scientific institutions, medical centers, the public and nonprofit sectors and religious institution identify qualified nominees.
- Applicants should qualify the following criteria:
- Individuals or teams, not organizations. The prize wants to hear about the individuals who created the vision on which the organization / endeavor is based.
- Star of David Nominees who have not reached their 50th birthday by the close of the nomination periodon Tuesday, December 15th, 2015. There are no exceptions to this date.
- Star of David Next generation leaders who have a vision for change that will better the world in a meaningful way.
- Star of David Nominees who have created a mechanism for acting on their vision in ways that deliver measurable results.
- Star of David Nominees who exhibit innovation, leadership and impact in their chosen field.
- Star of David Nominees whose Jewish values and universal regard for humanity inspire and serve as a model for future generations.
