The African Union is seeking applications from qualified and deserving candidates from the citizens of Member States for the job/vacancy of Senior Policy Officer for Telecommunications/ICT. Location of this job will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Educational Qualifications
- Candidates must have at least an engineering degree in Telecommunications/ICT, Master Degree ICT related field or equivalent qualification;
- A higher qualification will be and added advantage.
Work Experience
- Candidates must have at least 10 years of progressively relevant experience in the field of Telecommunications/ICT related fields, as well as programme/project management with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in policy development;
- Experience at regional and/or international level in the field of Telecommunications/ICT related issues is desirable.
Language Requirement
- Proficiency in at least one of the African Union working languages (English, French, Arabic and Portuguese) is a must have. Knowledge of the other working languages would be an added advantage.
Age Requirement
- Candidates must be between 35 and 50 years old at the time of application.
Tenure of Appointment:
- The appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of three (3) years, of which the first twelve months be consider as a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract will be for a period of two years renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.
Remuneration
- Indicative basic salary of US$33,619.00 per annum plus other related entitlements e.g. Post adjustment(46% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($14, 414.40 per annum), education allowance (75% of tuition and other education related expenses for every eligible dependent up to a maximum of US$7,800.00 per child per annum), etc for internationally recruited staff of the Commission.
