SUIS works in Nepal and is currently one of the medium sized NGO’s in Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal. It was founded by a group of development activists, business circle, media persons, medical persons and social workers who had a background in rural development and concern fields. In 1997 SUIS started its activities initially taking the rural health camps, persons with disability (PWDs), women’s and child rights through a rights-based approach. SUIS seeks to enhance the role of democratic civil society actors in consolidation as well as advocacy, awareness and educate about democratic, human rights and peace processes. SUIS works for poverty alleviation, environment, persons with disability, education, democracy, peace and health as well as an independent media in Nepal. These approaches and processes were upheld by the organization in its later programs.
