ACDI/VOCA has invited applications from qualified and deserving applicants for the jobs/vacancies of Consultants- Bamboo Value Chain Team Leader and Specialists, Ethiopia. Location of these positions will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Team Leader Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Oversee and manage the implementation of project initiatives, budgets, project reporting, and monitoring and evaluation; supervise staff; manage public private partnerships relating to environmentally sustainable bamboo value chains.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field; minimum five years’ experience in development management; knowledge of best practices in environmental management and sustainable agriculture; expertise in the bamboo sector; prior experience in Ethiopia and USAID experience strongly preferred; understanding of gender equity and entrepreneurship issues; fluency in oral and written English.
Value Chain Specialist Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Lead all bamboo value chain development activities; establish relationships with key stakeholders in bamboo value chain that helps facilitate income-generating activities between smallholder farmers and private sector organizations, work to increase efficiency and competitiveness of bamboo value chain.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field; minimum 10 years of agricultural value chain experience; expertise in bamboo value chain; familiarity with Eastern Africa preferred; fluency in oral and written English.
Cooperative Development Specialist Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Conduct cooperative assessments; develop training programs for cooperative unions; plan, organize and coordinate the implementation of cooperative development activities particularly in the area of modernizing their management styles and organizational set ups.
- B.Sc. degree in relevant area; 10 years of experience with cooperative business management; experience collaborating with NGOs and other stakeholders; fluency in oral and written English.
