ACDI/VOCA has invited applications from qualified and deserving candidates for the job/vacancy of Volunteer- Cold Chain Management Specialist, Egypt. Kindly note that this is a Volunteer position.
The Agricultural Community Development Association requests volunteer assistance to train technical staff members on efficient management of cold chain facilities. The volunteer will be asked to provide guidance in designing and structuring the cold chain process, taking into account harvesting, handling, logistics, environment, and the existing packing house facilities. The assignment will last for approximately two weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.
Qualifications:
- University degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or another related degree.
- Ten years’ experience in cold chain management with a strong background in conducting trainings.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and Powerpoint.
- The volunteer should be prepared to travel for long hours in a bad road network linking the farming communities in the region. He/she should also be prepared to live in these rural communities without internet, air-conditioning and other amenities. The volunteer must also be prepared to work under dry and hot weather conditions.
