Background and Rationale
Armed conflicts severely disrupt food systems, livelihoods, and access to basic services, leaving vulnerable populations at high risk of food insecurity and malnutrition. Displacement, market collapse, and restricted humanitarian access further exacerbate the situation. Women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities are disproportionately affected.
Acute food shortages and poor dietary diversity increase the prevalence of malnutrition, especially among children under five and pregnant and lactating women. Immediate, targeted interventions are required to prevent hunger, reduce mortality, and stabilize affected communities.
This project aims to provide life-saving food assistance while addressing urgent nutritional needs through an integrated and community-based approach.
Goal
To reduce food insecurity and malnutrition among conflict-affected populations through timely and equitable access to food and nutrition services.
