Executive Summary
This proposal presents a humanitarian intervention aimed at providing safe, secure, and protective shelter services for women and children affected by displacement, conflict, and domestic violence. The project will establish and support safe shelter facilities for approximately 1,200 women and children over a 12-month implementation period. Services will include temporary accommodation, psychosocial support, protection services, and referrals to health, legal, and livelihood programs. The project prioritizes survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), displaced families, and vulnerable female-headed households. The total funding requested is USD XXXXXX to ensure that vulnerable women and children have access to protection, safety, and recovery support.
Problem Statement
In humanitarian crises and displacement settings, women and children face increased risks of gender-based violence, exploitation, trafficking, and domestic abuse. The loss of stable housing and protection systems often leaves survivors without safe places to seek refuge. Many women remain in unsafe environments due to limited access to shelters, support services, and legal assistance.
Children living in crisis environments are also exposed to trauma, neglect, and unsafe living conditions that can affect their physical and psychological development. Without dedicated protection services and safe spaces, vulnerable families struggle to recover from violence and displacement.
Establishing safe shelters with integrated protection and support services is essential to protect survivors, restore dignity, and support long-term recovery.
