Asia Society is inviting direct applications and nominations from writer, team of writers or publication for ‘Osborn Elliott Prize for Excellence in Journalism on Asia’ 2014. The major objective of the prize is to honor writer or team of writers who has produced the best example of journalism about Asia.
The recipient will be awarded a cash prize of $10,000 in special program at the Asia Society in New York in June 2014.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant or nominee must be journalist(s) from Asia as defined by the Asia Society – Countries from Iran eastward up and including Australia and New Zealand. It does not include the Arab Middle East.
- Applications can be from non-US outlets but must have been published in English language.
- The submission can consist of a single written article or a cohesive series of articles.
- Self nomination is accepted.
- One applicant/nominator can apply/nominate only one writer/team or publication.
The submission must be accompanied with a letter or brief statement, full information of applicant/nominee along with full contact information of nominee’s editor, and a photograph or headshot of the journalist/nominee. The submissions must reach by deadline whatever (online, email or mail) means the applicant applies.
