Young researchers and practitioners from Asia-Pacific countries are invited to participate in the 2014 international training on ecosystem-climate interactions to be held from 8-20 September 2014 in Beijing, China. Through the training program, the participants will get advanced knowledge and skills in this fast-moving field. The major objective of the training is to enhance the environmental capacity building for the regional sustainable development. The training is joint program of APN and START Regional Center for East Asia.

- Multi-platform observation
- Trends and impacts analysis
- Ecosystem and climate modeling
The participants, after successful completion of the course, will be able to gain capacity for actively contributing to the process of ecosystem management and climate change adaptation in their respective countries and regions. The curriculum also comprises lectures, seminars, along with site visits and excursions in CAS research facilities and field stations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be Asian young scholars working in climate change sciences with special focus on ecosystem and climate change observation, analysis, and modeling.
- A corresponding professional background in atmospheric sciences, ecology, or earth sciences at M.S. or higher level is a prerequisite.
- Applicants must have good command over English language.
- Applicants can be in between 25 and 40 years of age.
