The Schwab Foundation is calling applications for the 2016 Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship provides unparalleled platforms at the regional and global level to highlight and advance leading models of sustainable social innovation.
Selected winners will be included in the Schwab Foundation network of social entrepreneurs. This includes access to a peer network of social entrepreneurs, special benefits such as pro-bono consulting services and scholarships to executive education courses. The winners will be invited to the regional meetings of the World Economic Forum which are relevant to their work. Excellent finalists or winners under 40 will also be nominated to the Young Global Leaders network of the World Economic Forum.
The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is a not-for-profit, independent and neutral organization, founded in 1998, with the purpose to advance social entrepreneurship and to foster social entrepreneurs as an important catalyst for societal innovation and progress. The Foundation is under the legal supervision of the Swiss Federal Government and is headquartered in Cologny-Geneva, Switzerland.
Eligibility Criteria
The global application is open to organizations headquartered in all countries, except in India, France, Brazil, and Chile, where they have national competition partners. In those countries, please apply through the national competition website.
Application Procedure
- Those interested in being considered as candidates complete the application form.
- The Schwab Foundation and local experts review the information forms submitted by Second Round Candidates. Those who qualify are invited to be semi-finalists.
- Finalists Selected
- Selection Committee (Schwab Foundation Board Members) selects the winners
- Winners are announced.
