Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is dedicated for promoting academic cooperation between scientists and scholars from abroad and from Germany. The foundation offers several research fellowships and awards to scholars from outside Germany to allow them visit Germany and work on research projects. The foundation also supports German scientists and scholars to carry out a research project abroad.
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is currently seeking applications for 2012 Max Planck Research Award. The award will be granted in the humanities and social sciences for work on the theme of “Regulating international financial markets”.
About the Award
Financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Max Planck Research Award is granted annually to two researchers, one working in Germany and one working abroad. Each recipient normally receives an award amount totalling 750,000 EUR. The objective of supporting cooperation with two internationally recognised academics is to give new impetus to the respective research area and consolidate its long-term status in Germany.
The joint Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Max Planck Society research award is granted on an annually-alternating basis, addressing areas within the natural and engineering sciences, the life sciences and the humanities which are deemed to be particularly promising fields of research. The rectors or presidents of universities and the heads of research institutions in Germany may submit their nominations to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation or the Max Planck Society. Nominations on behalf of qualified female academics are explicitly encouraged.
