Created in the United States in 1986, our Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program has grown to more than 140 cities in 50 countries and territories, with awards presented to hundreds of the world’s most successful and innovative entrepreneurs.
The awards program is uniquely global. The 2012 country winners will go on to represent China at an international awards ceremony next year in Monte Carlo, Monaco, where they will compete for the prestigious title of Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year. Around 50 overall award winners from around the world will face a distinguished panel of judges, comprising past winners and business leaders, to determine who will be the undisputed global winner in 2013.
Eligibility-
- The nominee must be an owner or manager who is primarily responsible for the recent performance of the company, and an active member of top management. The nominee’s company must be at least two years old.
- If the company is state-owned, the nominee is not required to have an equity interest in the company, but must be a member of top management and display entrepreneurial spirit, for example, by leading the organization’s transition into a market competitive enterprise or into an industry leader.
- Anyone associated with a successful entrepreneur – professional advisor, customer, supplier, banker, lawyer, employee or spouse – may nominate the individual.
- Entrepreneurs can also nominate themselves. After all, entrepreneurs know their achievements better than anyone else.
