“Ingegneria Senza Frontiere – Firenze ONLUS” (Engineering without Borders – Florence, in the following ISF-Fi) has announced The International Thesis Award “Premio Tattarillo” (in the following Tattarillo award) for Bachelor, MS and PhD theses.
The objective of the Award is to stimulate the interest of students and international academia community in sustainability topics in the “South of the World”, namely the realities where a group of individuals have no access to resources for their own realization within the social context of belonging. In particular, Tattarillo Award aims to deepen and circulate the concept of “Appropriate Technology” as an instrument for-
- knowledge transfer and awareness spreading among populations, to promote development models appropriate to their specific socio-economic and environmental reality;
- satisfying the needs of a community arising from its own socio-economic and environmental reality;
- supporting the debate and the encounter among different cultures also through discussion regarding technological choices.
Tattarillo Award 2013 will award 3 prizes of 1000 € each. The judging panel and the supporters of the Award can also confer special mentions.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- The Award is addressed to person graduated in any University with a Bachelor Degree or a Master Degree or a PhD.
- The thesis may belong to any faculty; they are not limited to Engineering faculties. The defence of the submitted thesis must have been held between the closing date of the present Award
How to apply?
- The participants must send, via post or “brevi manu”, in a single sealed envelope with the caption “Partecipazione al Premio Tattarillo 2013”, with following materials-
- thesis report a presentation of her/his thesis in the form of a report (maximum six A4 pages) including figures and an abstract of 12 lines, in .doc or .odt format (no .pdf), as specified by ISF-Fi on the website
- copy of the thesis
- A2 poster (not binding) as specified on the website
- admission form, filled out as specified on the website
- declaration of conformity, filled out as specified on the website
- Entrants must also send only the admission form to the following e-mail address
- Application form received after the closing date or missing the required material or containing material not prepared as specified on the website
- The thesis submitted to the previous editions of Tattarillo Award will not be admitted to the Evaluation Phase.
