International Erosion Control Association (IECA) invites nominations for various awards to be presented under the IECA Awards program. Only the existing IECA members may nominate an individual, project, or program for an award. The main purpose of the awards is to honor and recognize outstanding achievements in the fields of erosion and sediment control.
Following is the list of the awards:
- Environmental Achievement
- Sustained Contributor
- Young Professional
- Professional of the Year
- Contractor of the Year
- Organization of the Year
- Technological Innovation
- Educational Achievement
Nominees whose proposals are selected for an award will have to submit a five to ten PowerPoint-slide presentation that will be used during the Awards presentation. Each presentation should clearly underline the principle aspects of the project, program or system. If the winners desire they can even submit a movie of up to three minutes duration, instead of submitting the Power-Point presentation. In this case, please confirm the required format with the IECA before submitting your application. The content of a proposal will depend upon the specific award. Two categories of content are:
Mandatory Content – All nominations should include an awards application, having detailed and precise contact information for the Nominator and Nominee, and any other mandatory content specified in each award category.
Optional Content – Other than the mandatory content, the nominee may also include extra content, to demonstrate the various aspects of his/her project or program. The nominator may decide upon the inclusion of the optional content. However, the awards committee is under no obligation to view the optional content.
The applications have to be submitted in a particular format. All entries must be completed on letter size or A4 format with an 11.5 pt font size or larger, in Times, Times New Roman or Arial, with 1-inch (2.5-cm) margins, and no less than single spacing. Nominations must be formatted in either Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or Adobe Acrobat. Content and page length limits are specified in the award descriptions.
Last date for submitting the nomination is November 11, 2011. For more information, visit this link.
