The Gerda Henkel Foundation is currently inviting nominations from the universities as well as cultural and academic institutions worldwide to nominate suitable candidates for the Gerda Henkel Prize 2016.
The Award ceremony will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The Gerda Henkel Prize will be awarded for the following thematic areas:
- Archaeology
- Art History
- Historical Islamic Studies
- History
- History of Law
- History of Science
- Prehistory and Early History
Prize
The Gerda Henkel Prize is worth 100,000 euros.

- Award ceremony: 7 November 2016
Eligibility Criteria
- The Researchers of the renowned universities as well as cultural and academic institutions worldwide are eligible to apply.
- The prize is open to scholars from all countries.
- Self-nominations cannot be accepted. Neither members of the Foundation Committees or the jury nor employees of the Gerda Henkel Foundation may participate in the nomination process or be nominated for the prize.
How to Apply
- Applicants must submit nominations consisting of the following documents:
- The nomination form
- The reasoning for the proposal
- The nominee’s curriculum vitae
- A list of the nominee’s most important academic publications from the last five years.
- All documents pertaining to nominations should be submitted to the Gerda Henkel Foundation’s office.
