Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is the organization working to promote growth and development across the world and especially in developing countries. The focus of IDRC remains on finding innovative local solutions that can bring change in the lives of people who need them most. IDRC’s Climate Change and Water Program (CCW) extends support to researchers from developing countries to encourage them to research about climate change and its effects on water resources. The CCW now invites proposals from interested candidates for Adaptation H2O Graduate Research Awards 2011-2012 on climate change and water.
Eligible themes
Proposals must address one or more of the following themes:
– Economic analysis related to climate change adaptation
– Gender analysis of adaptation strategies
– Use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and spatial decision support systems for adaptation
– The role of clean energy in water provision
– Adapting to climate change in vulnerable coastal communities.
Research proposals that incorporate a social as well as a gender analysis are encouraged.
Evaluation process
Applications meeting the eligibility criteria will be pre-screened by IDRC staff. The selected proposals will be forwarded to at least two external evaluators for further assessment.
