Coexist Foundation has been working to promote better understanding between Jews, Christians and Muslims, and between these communities and others, through education, dialogue and research. Coexist is an operational foundation which not only funds projects, but also forges and facilitates new partnerships and programs, which help people to understand better what it means to be Jewish, Christian or Muslim today.
Coexist is currently seeking nominations for the Coexist Prize, worth $100,000 aimed at honoring an unsung hero who has made an exceptional contribution to building bridges between people of different faiths, who has shown courage and imagination beyond their day to day responsibilities and effected change that will leave a lasting impact in their society and beyond.
Two runners up awards worth $10,000 will also be presented at a special press event, streamed live around the world from a prominent location, in early 2012.
The stories of the winners’ achievements will be told in three short video documentaries which will be the centerpiece of the Prize event and will also be released to all media outlets to maximize their impact and inspiration. The films will showcase the individuals’ work and highlight the impact and change they have brought to their communities.
The prize is provided not only as recognition, but also as a contribution to further the impact that the recipients are making in society through the projects and organizations with which they work.
