Deadline- 10th Aug, 2012
Nominations are invited for Grassroot Diplomat Initiative Awards to formally recognise six diplomats and members of parliament working closely with members of civil society in the UK.
Grassroot Diplomat is the only diplomatic organisation of its kind to bridge the gap between civil society and political leaders. They believe in promoting the interest of the people above and beyond corporate, national and political interest and strengthen policy projects led by ordinary citizens using diplomatic strategies.
Awards will be given to three diplomats and three politicians for three separate categories in relation to policy, social change and business support. It is crucial for all recipients to be present at the ceremony to be held in London on 8 November 2012 to receive their awards. A suitable replacement may be considered under exceptional circumstances. Further details of the event will be provided to the nominee nearer the time. Please note that no expense will be paid to cover nominees travelling within or from outside of London.
Eligibility-
This award is strictly reserved for foreign diplomats of all level and politicians including Members of Parliament and Members of the House of Lords in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Nominations may be made to an individual, embassy or government institution that meet any of the category. Any person may make a nomination by completing the online nomination form or submitting the downloaded nomination form.
