Nominations are invited for TEDxBaghdad Innovative Technology Award 2012

Registrations are now open for TEDxBaghdad Awards which aims to encourage initiatives that may help Iraqi citizens improve their lives, develop Iraq and create an environment of creativity and innovation.

Many bright ideas have originated from driven people with limited resources. TEDxBaghdad is creating an environment to nourish these ideas, while providing a stage for the ideas to gain the attention that they are worth. In the face of war and reconstruction, TEDxBaghdad inspires and stimulates initiatives that can improve lives.

By cultivating such initiatives, TEDxBaghdad aspires to work toward a better future for Iraq and humanity at whole.TEDxBaghdad Awards aims to recognize trailblazing initiatives in two diverse categories as follows-

Innovative Technology Award for Iraqis inside Iraq-

TEDxBaghdad wants to recognize the small and major initiatives of Iraqis to build innovative technology solutions for Iraq – mobile technology, robotic, open source, and others. Iraqis are invited to send us your demo-able prototype’s video, and the winner will be invited to show-case the idea to the world on the stage of TEDxBaghdad 2012.

Criteria

Iraqis from any province in Iraq
The idea needs to deliver an innovative technology solution in mobile technology, robotic, open source, and others
The idea must be received as text and video (YouTube video etc.)
Winner/s will need to present a working prototype on the stage

Annual TEDxBaghdad Award for 2012 for people outside Iraq –

The Annual TEDxBaghdad Award for 2012 will recognize ideas from those living outside Iraq (Iraqis and non-Iraqis alike) with new thoughts, technology, knowledge or solutions that can contribute in rebuilding Iraq. The winner will also present the idea at TEDxBaghdad 2012.
