World Technology Network (WTN) invites nominations for the prestigious THE WORLD TECHNOLOGY AWARD 2011. The awards are intended towards recognizing the services rendered by innovative individuals and corporations that are doing “innovative work of the greatest likely long-term significance” in 20 different categories in science, technology and related fields.
Since 2000 The World Technology Awards are presented by the World Technology Network (WTN) in association with TIME magazine, Fortune, CNN, Science/AAAS, Technology Review, and others. These awards are intended as a way to honor those innovators who have made the most impactful contributions to science and technology, besides being a vetting mechanism to determine the newest WTN members (as all winners and finalists are inducted into the WTN membership).
Nominations for Awards are submitted directly by potential candidates or their representative, as well as by individual WTN members (who also vote their preferences later on for the finalists). We have 20 Award categories, and in 10 of those categories we give both individual and corporate Awards. The Winners — selected by the WTN with the input of a select group of prominent Advisors — will be announced from the stage at the World Technology Awards ceremony at the United Nations on the evening of October 26th at the close of the two-day World Technology Summit (Oct. 25/26) held at the TIME & LIFE Building.
