The Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) invites applications for a Graduate Fellowship Award of around £1,500 (gross). RLI is based at the Human Rights Consortium of the School of Advanced Study; University of London.
The Award is for foreign individual undertaking research in the refugee and human rights field. This application is for 4-month period and is payable at the mid-point of the Fellowship. The scheme is open to all advanced PhD students interested in working with the academics of the RLI in organizing, facilitating and disseminating work undertaken on international law for the protection of refugees and other displaced persons.
The recipients of the Award will be expected to contribute to convene the RLI’s Programme of Events. The recipient(s) will work with the Director of the RLI, Dr David James Cantor, contributing to the convening of conferences and seminars, and producing reports on these events and undertake a follow up exercise thereafter. They will also be expected to attend those conferences and seminars. The expected time commitment from the recipient will be two days per week, by negotiation, based at the School of Advanced Study in London.
Candidates for the Award will be advanced Doctoral students working in a related field, and will have good organizational skills and excellent written English. Prior experience in the organization of events would be invited.
