The UNESCO-Juan Bosch Prize for the Promotion of Social Science Research in Latin America and the Caribbean is awarded every two years to the best best social science thesis of young researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Prize was instituted by the Executive Board, at the initiative of the Government of theDominican Republic, in connection with the commemoration of the centenary of Professor Bosch’s birth in 2009.
The award winners will receive a diploma and a monetary award of USD 10,000. The name of the prizewinner will be announced in August 2012. The awardee will be officially recognized at a ceremony that will be held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, at which she or he will be invited to deliver an acceptance speech.
Member States or Associate Members of UNESCO, non-governmental organizations and foundations that maintain official relations with UNESCO, especially those whose activities fall within the scope of the Prize, are invited to nominate candidates.
The nomination form must be completed in either Spanish or English. Members States may not submit more than three candidates.
