Nominations are open for World of Children Award 2015 in four categories – Health Award (Minimum $50,000 grants), Humanitarian Award (Minimum $50,000), Youth Award (Minimum $25,000 grants) and Education Awards ($50,000 grants). Individuals who are making a difference in the lives of children anywhere around the world can be nominated for the award. These individuals should have been working for the children at least for 10 years except for the youth award which is for young individuals who have been working for at least three years.
Grant support is provided to the organizations these individuals are running or affiliated to, to invest for their projects on children.
Grant Categories
- Health Award – Minimum $50,000 grant in recognition of an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the field of health, medicine or the sciences.
- Humanitarian Award – Minimum $50,000 grant in recognition of an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the areas of social services, education or humanitarian services.
- Youth Award – Minimum $25,000 in recognition of a youth who is making extraordinary contribution to the lives of other children.
- Education Awards – Minimum $50,000 in recognition of individuals who are making extraordinary contributions to the lives of vulnerable children in their educational development.
Honorees will participate in the Annual Awards Ceremonies held in New York City, USA on 5 November 2015. Travel and accommodations will be arranged and paid for by World of Children Award.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nominee must have (should be founder of) an existing non-profit organization in good standing, which can receive grant funds.
- Nominees must have full knowledge that they are being nominated. It is recommended that the nominee and the related organization be a part in completing the nomination form.
- Nominees must be available to participate in the Annual Awards Ceremonies held in New York City, USA on 5 November 2015.
- Nomination of one person can be made for one Award only.
- World of Children Award excludes any work designed to specifically advance any one religion or political position.
- For Health Award, nominee must have created, managed or otherwise supported a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to the improved health of children.
- For Humanitarian Award, nominee must have created, managed or otherwise supported a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to children’s opportunities to be safe, to learn and to grow.
- For Youth Award, nominee must be under the age of 21 by the nomination submission deadline.
- For all three awards except Youth Award, nominees must be doing the work over and above their normal employment, or work for little or no pay.
- Nominees for all three awards except for youth award, should have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years. For Youth award, s/he must be doing the work for at least three years.
- Self nominations are accepted. One person can be nominated by more than one person or organization.
- Past Honorees cannot be nominated.
How to Nominate a Candidate for World of Children Award?
- Register an Account.
- Complete the Nomination Form. You can save and come back any time to complete the form.
- Submit the completed nomination form before deadline.
What should be filled in the Nomination Form?
Contact Information, Work and Organization details of the nominee and a few questions to be answered in at most 300 words. It is recommended that the nominator work with her/his nominee to complete the nomination form. The questions may be as follows:
- Why does the Nominee deserve recognition?
- How have the Nominee’s efforts made a difference for the better?
- Describe a specific incident or turning point that motivated the Nominee to take action.
- What makes the Nominee exceptional or unique?
- What are the Nominee’s plans in regards to carrying his or her work into the future?
- If the Nominee were to be awarded a grant from World of Children Award, describe how those funds might be used.
- Describe how the work and organization of the Nominee is sustainable, even if the Nominee were no longer to be involved.
