World Education Summit every year recognizes the services rendered by schools, higher education institutions, vocational training institutions, government organizations, NGOs, private institutions and other institutions from across the planet that have transformed the educational practices into a sustainable social enterprise through innovations and leadership in the form of awards. World Education Awards will be awarded during the World Education Summit to be held at New Delhi between 13th and 15th July 2011.
The World Education Awards will be awarded in six fields viz. School Education, Vocational Education, Higher Education, Government Initiatives, Private Initiatives.
For all the above fields, there are two categories for the World Education Awards
World Education Public Choice Award
Under this category, the nominated projects after screened will be open for public vote. The projects that get the maximum number of public votes under each of the six fields will receive the World Education Public Choice Award.
World Education Jury Choice Award
After screening of nominations by an eminent panel of jury members, the best project from each field will be chosen. The selected project will get the World Education Jury Choice Award
All the nominations received under ‘School Education’, ‘Higher Education’, ‘Skills and Vocational Education’ and ‘Government Sector Initiative’ will be eligible for awards under both the categories mentioned above.
All nominations received under ‘Private Sector Initiative’ will be eligible for World Education Public Choice Award only.
Registration fee
Registration fee for sending award nominations is INR 10,000 / USD 200 per nomination
Objectives
– To recognize and encourage institutions, organizations, projects, programmes, initiatives etc in the field of education from all over the world.
– To identify and popularise best/emerging/effective models, projects, programmes, initiatives in education all over the world.
– To identify and felicitate a project/programme/initiative that exemplifies the kind of implementation that can be easily replicated and at the same time proves efficient and sustainable in the implementing process.
– To promote the most innovative project/programme/initiative in the domain of education.
– To spread awareness about the role of ICTs in addressing social concerns in education.
– To emphasise the instrumental effectiveness of ICT based applications
WES Awards are open for all national and international government organisations, private enterprises, civil society organisations, bi-lateral, multi-lateral developmental organisations, in India and abroad, who have transformed educational practices into a sustainable social enterprise through innovations and leadership.
