Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Government of Korea, UNESCO, Busan Metropolitan City, Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU), and National Research Foundation of Korea are organizing the First World Humanities Forum in Busan from 24 – 26 November, 2011.
The Forum is being organized with the aim to provide an open-ended forum for exchange, dialogue and discussion with a view of shaping agendas for intellectual and practical debates in the field of humanities.
During the Forum, the organizers intend to bring together the researchers, scholars and practitioners in the humanities, so as to facilitate a collective reflection on the key challenges and questions confronting the world in the 21st century under the general theme of “The role of value of Humanities in the 21st century (tentative).” The World Humanities Forum will thus draw on the humanities to respond to the challenges of being human in the 21st century.
Researchers and practitioners in the field of humanities are invited to submit abstracts for paper presentations for the upcoming World Humanities Forum. Abstracts relevant to any session themes and research and practice of humanities and its effects will be considered.
Last date for submission of papers is August 31, 2011
