The Women’s Initiative of United Way of Central Massachusetts is offering a unique opportunity for programs to submit requests addressing the issue of “Violence Affecting Middle School Girls.”
The Women’s Initiative is a group of volunteers who have join their hands together to make a difference in our society. This organization is engaged in creating a powerful force to create an impact in our community. Since its inception in 2003, the organization has worked with voluntary committees of community leaders. Moreover, the organization has engaged more than 1,400 individuals and raised an amount of $2,000,000.The current priority of this member-run organization is to curb violence in the lives of adolescent girls by addressing underlying causes, investing resources to create positive changes, and measuring the results.
The Women’s Initiative employs three strategies to address identified needs in this area:
• Program Funding (Grants and Sponsorships)
• Research
For this funding opportunity, the Women’s Initiative will consider proposals which address the issue reducing the incidence of violence affecting middle-school age girls through the strategy of Building, Strengthening and Supporting the Development of Healthy, Confident and Safe Adolescent Girls. All proposals will be submitted to United Way of Central Massachusetts using the online ANDAR application.
Deadline for proposal submission is Wednesday, February 1, 2012
