The Inter-American Development Bank-Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (IDB-INTAL) and the South American Network on Applied Economics/Red Sur jointly invite researchers/research centers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to propose research projects in four different subject areas.
Subject Areas
- Value chains and NR
- Climate change and integration
- Renewable energy
- Standards and market access
One study in each of the four subject areas will be selected for funding of US$15,000 each. The research will be published by both of the institutions – IDB-INTAL and Red Sur.
Note the Key Dates
- 3 November 2014 – Proposal submission deadline
- 4-10 November 2014 – Proposals assessment and selection
- 11 November 2014 – Announcement of proposals selected
- 15 November 2014 – 30 March 2015 – Project development period with subsequent final review period
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be institutions and researchers from all over Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Researchers or institutions from other regions may submit projects provided it is done in conjunction with partners in the region.
- Priority will be given to proposals that have a prospective and regional approach; provide an intra-and extra-regional comparative perspective; and propose methodologies and data enabling an original quantitative analysis of the phenomena studied and the policy recommendations.
- Proposals must clearly state the subject area in which the project is competing and help to answer one or more of the questions for that particular subject area.
