UNICEF is inviting organizations/agencies (including research institutions) to submit an expression of interest to enter into partnerships on the following key areas within the ‘peacebuilding, education and advocacy’ programme. This expression of interest if part of the four-year peacebuilding, education and advocacy programme, implemented by UNICEF, in recognition that insecurity is a primary development challenge of our time and a significant barrier to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), including the right to universal primary education.
The peacebuilding, education and advocacy programme is designed to strengthen resilience, social cohesion and human security in conflict-affected contexts, including countries at risk of, or experiencing and recovering from conflict. The programme focuses on 14 countries in West and East Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East.
UNICEF invites organizations/agencies (including research institutions) to submit an expression of interest to enter into partnerships on the following key areas within the ‘peacebuilding, education and advocacy’ programme:
- Inclusion of education into peacebuilding policies
- Institutional capacity to supply conflict sensitive education
- Increased capacity of children, parents, teachers and other duty-bearers to prevent, reduce, and cope with conflict and promote peace.
- Access to quality, relevant conflict sensitive education that contributes to peace.
- Generation and use of evidence on policies and programming related to education and peacebuilding.
- Monitoring and evaluation of peacebuilding and education programs
Expressions of Interest should be maximally three pages long (Font 12, 1” Margins [Normal]), and contain the following elements:
– Name and Background Information of the Organization
– Description of areas of technical expertise in particular across both peacebuilding and education domains
– List of current partners, areas of common engagement, length of partnerships
– Geographic areas of engagement and expertise (specify country experience and years of engagement)- Proposed area of interest within the six areas listed above
