The major objective of this beginners’ guide is to simplify and demystify the CFS and explains how different organization can get involved. This is a guide for civil society organizations (CSOs) to the Committee on World Food Security which is known as the CFS. This publication deeply analyzes what the CFS is, why it is important, and how civil society organizations worldwide can keep a check, influence or get involved in the work of the CFS at the global, regional and the national level.
The guide is written in simple language for social movements, community based organizations (CBOs), civil society (CSOs), and local or international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working on food security and nutrition issues, including food sovereignty and the right to food, that have little or no knowledge about the CFS. This publication is designed for those who have query regarding the CFS, or participate or engage in its work, debates or deliberations.
