Prince’s Countryside Fund: Grant Giving Program to Reconnect People with the Countryside

The Prince’s Countryside Fund (the Fund) will provide funding towards projects operating in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland that clearly contribute towards one or more of The Prince’s Countryside Fund’s objectives.

The Fund aims to have a long term positive impact on rural communities, helping those that live and work there to sustain the countryside, by tackling key rural issues.

Priority Areas

The grant programme currently aims to tackle the following key rural issues:

  • Developing thriving rural communities by improving service provision in rural areas.
  • Transforming rural livelihoods by supporting rural enterprise and farming businesses.
  • Creating the farmers of the future by providing training opportunities for young people and unemployed people.

Objectives

The Prince’s Countryside Fund will provide funding for the following objectives:

  • Improve the viability of British farming targeting the areas of greatest need;
  • Improve the sustainability of rural communities targeting the areas of greatest need;
  • Reconnect people with the countryside.

Grant Information

Organisations can apply for a maximum of £50,000 (inclusive of VAT) of funding to a maximum period of three years.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications will only be accepted from organisations across UK. Applications are accepted from:

  • Community Interest Companies
  • Companies limited by guarantee
  • Charities
  • Not for profit organisations
  • Social enterprises
  • Unincorporated associations

Ineligible Organisations

The Prince’s Countryside Fund will not accept applications from individuals or the following organisations:

  • Statutory bodies, such as local authorities, NHS bodies, or work where there is statutory responsibility to provide funding.
  • Religious bodies where the funding will be for religious purposes.
  • Political organisations where the funding will be used for political purposes.
