Students around the globe who are passionate about solving the world’s toughest challenges are invited to work on team and apply for the Hult Prize 2015. There is a chance to win USD 1 million as seed funding to launch the social enterprise and work to change your passion into reality. College/university youth are mostly worried they do not have sufficient fund to address the problems the world is facing – now, here is the opportunity – grab it and show the world that you have got the guts!
The Hult Prize aims to gather and present as many innovative ideas as possible to help solve the target social challenge.
What should we do?
- Make a team of 4-5 students (one team should have students from the same college/university) sharing similar passion.
- Open online application form in the Hult Prize website and upload your resumes and one team statement of purpose into the application.
- Check back regularly –If you have focused on developing ideas that can be feasibly implemented and ensure the evaluation team that your start-up has the capital to implement the ideas presented, there is chance that your team get selected for Regional Competition!
Competition Phases
- Local and Regional Competition – The regional competitions will take place during 13-14 March 2015 in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai, Shanghai and on-line. Teams of 4-5 students are charged with developing ideas for social enterprises that can conquer modern day’s most solvable global challenges.
- Hult Accelerator – Six regional finalists teams will attend the Hult Prize Accelerator – six-week program of intensive entrepreneurial seminars during July and August 2015.
- Global Finals – teams will pitch their ideas in-front of a world-class audience. Winners will be selected and USD 1 Million prize will be awarded to each team for launching their social enterprise.
- Implementation – Global Champion will work ot launch their new social enterprise. Each of the six teams presenting at the Global Finals will receive a one year membership into the Clinton Global Initiative.
Note the Key Dates
- 21 December 2014 – Application deadline
- 9 January 2015 – Regional Finalists Announced
- 13 March 2015 – Regional Rounds of Competition Held in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai and Shanghai. Trainings begin at 2PM local time.
- 14 March 2015 – Hult Prize Regional Final Pitch-offs begin. Finals and awards ceremony at 6PM local time.
- 23 September 2015 – Hult Prize Global Finals and Awards cEremony
- 24 September 2015 – President Clinton features winning Hult Prize start-up at Clinton Global Initative and issues 2016 Hult Prize challenge and call to action.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students past or present from any college or university in the world can form teams of 3-5. The conditions are –
- All participants must have a connection with the same school
- A maximum of one alumnus who cannot also be a faculty member of the school
- All participants should belong to the same college or university. However, this may consist of a mix of programs and undergraduate, graduate and PhD level.
