New Era Educational and Charitable Support Foundation is inviting youths from around the world for 5th Annual International Conference on Youth and Interfaith Dialogue. The theme for this conference will be “The Role of Free and Responsible Media toward a Peaceful Society Imbued with Dignity and Mutual Respect”. The objective of this conference is to examine the positive role of various means of media and social media in the area of peacebuilding and in the enhancement of dialogue between the members of world’s religions.
The conference will be held at ELIEL CENTER, located along Rayfield Road, opposite Airforce Base, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria on 25th -27th October 2013.
The International Conference brings together community members, including representatives of CSOs and Faith-based groups within Nigeria and globally to foster mutual respect between diverse ethnic and religious groups. Furthermore, to support civil society and individuals who seek non-violent approaches to conflict and strive toward a shared future.
The Conference will utilize an Inter religious and Intercultural Model for Dialogue and Peaceful coexistence in Nigeria, and a strategy to overcome misunderstandings and stereotypes that affect relations between groups and within societies. The women and men will provide recommendations to decision-makers, institutions and individuals for dignifying everyone and our shared values. In a safe space, the Conference will be a living model for creating prosperity, coexistence beyond war, and restoring friendships and trust.
Conference Participants will discuss various topics, including freedom of opinion and expression guaranteed to all and the need to respect and honor our freedom and the freedom of others in order to build a suitable and better habitable global community for all.
