The European Commission has launched the public consultation on the future European youth program. All citizens and organisations are welcome to contribute to this consultation.
Contributions are particularly sought from organisations/bodies active in the field of youth, public authorities, youth workers, and young people as well as from anyone interested in the development of the future European youth programme.
For over 20 years, the European Union has been supporting programmes in favour of youth to encourage their mobility, active engagement and the development of skills and competences through a wide variety of non-formal activities. These have included intercultural youth exchanges, international volunteering, meetings between young people and policy-makers, exchanges of practices and experiences among youth organisations, etc.
The current European youth programme is called “Youth in Action” and will run until the end of 2013. Reflections have been launched to start shaping the successor programme .
The purpose of this public consultation is to collect views on how to best develop the future European programme in the field of youth so as to ensure an adequate response to youth needs, challenges and expectations.
The consultation period is open from 15 September 2010 and 30 November 2010.
