The European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) is a common platform for agricultural economists and other parties related to the issues involving agricultural and food industries and rural development in Europe.
The Association is active in extending the knowledge and understanding of agricultural economics, especially in the European context;
Besides it promotes the exchange of ideas, experience, and information about different aspects of the sector between agricultural economists.
The EAAE holds a triennial Congress on a general theme, besides organizing regular seminars concerning more specific subjects. The European Review of Agricultural Economics (ERAE) is the official journal of the Association.
In 2011, EAAE is organizing the XIIIth Congress at ETH in Zurich – Switzerland, from Tuesday, August 30 until Friday, September 2, 2011. The event is organized by Agroscope Reckenholz-Tänikon Research Station ART and the Institute for Environmental Decisions of ETH Zurich

The Congress also offers opportunities for businesses to discuss their queries with agricultural economists during the Agribusiness Event, which will be held on August 30.
The associations, organisations or projects who wish to take advantage of the Congress have the opportunity to organise «internal» meetings, the Congress venue offers meeting rooms at a modest price.
In addition to the scientific Programme, the local office offers different social events and side activities like excursions and farewell banquet for participants and accompanying persons. There is a provision for participants to bring the children along with them.
