CALL FOR PROPOSALS are invited for Ninth Annual Conference on Forum on Education Abroad will be organized in Chicago, Illinois from April 3 to 5, 2013.
The Forum’s Ninth Annual Conference will analyze several aspects and intersections of student learning and development in education abroad.
Curricula and pedagogies offer the academic framework for student learning abroad. The academic design of education abroad programs, the courses that are offered and the way that they are taught, are essential contributors to student learning outcomes.
Student development refers to how education abroad assists students to grow as individuals by achieving greater levels of personal, academic, and professional success and to increase the effectiveness of their roles and relationships in society.
The Forum is interested especially in session proposals which challenge assumptions about how students learn and develop abroad, and that encourage debate and discussion about new conceptual models and best practice approaches, so that faculty, administrators, sending and host institutions, and programs may better understand and support students.
The Forum encourages proposals from education abroad colleagues and faculty and from colleagues with expertise in the fields of student development, teaching and learning, who can present relevant research and practices which throw light on the intersection of these fields with education abroad.
Deadline: August 24, 2012
