International Human Rights Funders Group (IHRFG) invites members to submit session proposals for the Semi-Annual Conference to be held in San Francisco during January 24-25, 2012 focusing on a timely issue in human rights and human rights funding. Any member of IHRFG may submit a session proposal. If you are not currently a member of IHRFG but are eligible to be a member, you are invited to submit a session proposal and a membership application simultaneously.
About the Conference
IHRFG’s conferences are an opportunity for participating grantmakers to hear and engage with leading human rights practitioners, policy makers, scholars, and peers on timely human rights issues. These events serve as learning and networking forums that promote the exchange of information and collaboration among grantmakers.
The San Francisco conference will feature dynamic panel discussions and workshops organized by IHRFG members; meetings of IHRFG working groups; the dinner-dialogue event; networking sessions in formal and informal settings; and the open-mic Funders’ Soapbox.
Attendance Eligibility
IHRFG events are open to grantmakers and invited speakers only. Current IHRFG members and individuals who are eligible for membership may attend the semi-annual conferences.
IHRFG membership is open to staff, consultants and trustees of private foundations, corporate foundations, community giving programs, governmental giving programs, faith-based giving programs, philanthropic advocacy and support organizations, individual philanthropists with significant giving programs, and public charities (public foundations and community foundations) whose primary activity is grantmaking and who do not relate to other IHRFG members primarily as grant-seekers.
Please note: Staff of grantmaking institutions (that are also grant-seeking organizations) whose functions are solely fundraising are not eligible for participation.
Last date for submission of session proposals is October 14, 2011
