The SCOPES (Scientific Co-operation between Eastern Europe and Switzerland) accepts Conference grant proposals from Swiss Conference organizer to accommodate participants from Eastern European partner countries. Conference can be on any scientific disciplines ranging from humanities and social sciences to natural, technological science and engineering sciences, biology and medicine. Conference grants aim to strengthen the international networks of scientists from Eastern Europe/NIS and open new perspectives for their international co-operation as well as for the development of their scientific curricula.
The proposals will be reviewed on the basis of – relevance for transition, capacity building and partnership approach. Grant request must be made by the Swiss Conference organizers inviting international participants belonging to Eastern Europe.
Grants will be provided for the participation of candidates from following eligible countries –
- Western Balkan Countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia); South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia); Central Asia (Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan); plus Moldova & Ukraine.
- EU member countries plus Croatia, Russia and Kazakhstan

Eligibility Criteria
- Proposal must be submitted by the Swiss conference organizer.
- Grant request can be made for maximum CHF 10,000 and for a project duration of maximum 7 days. This can be towards the contribution to travel and accommodation costs for conference participants from partner countries (flat rate per person).
- Applications must be made at least 3 months before the conference takes place.
