End Water Poverty is the international campaign aimed towards bringing an end to the global water and sanitation crisis. This campaign is formed of organizations from around the world that seek for immediate action and direction from donors as well as the governments. The campaign strives to tackle distressing water crisis across the world that affects billions of poor people.
End Water Poverty is a growing movement for change with members all over the world. In March, 350,000 people joined the ‘World Walks for Water’ action. End Water Poverty has been campaigning since March 2007 for the establishment of ‘Sanitation and Water for All: A Global Framework for Action’, in order to better coordinate the sector and drive progress in the delivery of national sanitation and water plans.
End Water Poverty will be at World Water Week in Stockholm in the month of August. The week is well attended by civil society and organizations working for eradicating water crisis. The event is an ideal opportunity for concerned people to meet and strengthen the movement for change, and bring an end to the water and sanitation crisis. End Water Poverty members will host a special event for civil society during the World Water Week.
End Water Poverty invites people to attend the interactive gathering, meet other organizations campaigning on WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), and find out more about the Sanitation and Water for All partnership, and national and global campaign actions for the year ahead.
The event will be organized on Tuesday August 23, 2011 between 9 am – 10.30 am.
