Youth for Peace Workshop is being organized by International Institute of Peace Studies (IIPS) in co-operation with Asian Resource Foundation (ARF). This conference will be conducted in Bangkok, Thailand from December 12th – 18th, 2013. The purpose of this conference is to create a new generation of young peace builders for peace, solidarity and sustainable development in Asia.
Objective-
- Applicants will get an understanding and dimension of peace and conflict. As a student/professional they will gain and build up knowledge and skills in promoting peace.
- To develop critical awareness among Asian youth about Asian realities and challenges, Asian religions, traditions and cultures and engage them in social actions for peace, justice and development
- To facilitate collective learning process about understanding of the causes of conflict, ways and means to transform conflict and build sustainable peace
- To strengthen “Youth for Peace Net-work” in Asia and the Middle East
Eligibility & Criteria-
- Young (female and male) leaders, scholars, teachers, post graduate students, NGO and social workers, and anyone else with a keen interest in approaching peacebuilding creatively
- 30 young peace activists who are engaged in peace and development works from Asia and the Middle East
- Socially engaged in peace and development works
- Good command of English
- Possess a leadership quality and potential to become a trainer
- Applicant will continue to work for Peace Activity after graduation from this course
