For the fourth consecutive time the Centre for Research in Arts and Economics (CREARE) organizes the International Summer School in Cultural Economics. The courses examine the relationship between culture and economics, the link between creativity, arts, and business, and bridge the knowledge and experiences of scholars and practitioners involved in specific cultural sectors. The courses are led by professor Arjo Klamer, renowned Cultural Economist at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. This year for the first time the International Summer School in Cultural Economics is organised in cooperation with Erasmus Academie.
This short, five days intensive course will provide professionals and advanced students with the latest insights into the sources and nature of creative economy. It will explore the characteristics of cultural industries and environments that foster creativity in economy and society as a whole. It will pay special attention to the role of the arts and culture in fostering a creative environment. One of the questions addressed is what the insights into all these aspects of creativity can contribute to better government policies and better leadership in professional organizations. The course covers a rich selection of topics: creative economy: major shifts and their consequences; the role of the creativity, art and culture in the new economy; Innovation and the role of the entrepreneurship in the creative industries.

- Lecturers and researches who are interested in creative processes, innovation and entrepreneurship.
A limited number of graduate students can participate based on their involvement in the topic.Maximum 20 participants will be admitted.
