Proposals are accepted for Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development Actions in partner Country South Sudan under Europe Aid. The mission of this program is to strengthen Non State Actors and Local Authorities in South Sudan as a precondition for a more equitable, open and democratic society through support to their “own initiatives”, as well as strengthen their capacity to deliver services to the citizens and in particular the most disadvantaged groups of the population.
Objectives–
- To promote and foster a culture of dialogue, debate and discussion and to advance local and regional peace initiatives
- To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery by NSA service providers in the area of sustainable income generation
- To provide support for the personal and professional development of young people, women and disadvantaged groups (e.g.. people with disabilities or extremely marginalized communities).
- Participation of communities in local governance is strengthened and government’s accountability at local level is enhanced.
- To build networks and strengthen the role of NSAs in development.
The overall indicative amount made available under this procedure is EUR 4,750,000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
Eligibility & Criteria-
- be legal persons
- be non-profit-making
- be Non State Actors (NSA), legally established in accordance with the legislation in force in the country concerned
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in South Sudan
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- not be a political party
